Improwizująca solowa gitara elektryczna, to w sumie niezbyt częste zjawisko w muzyce tworzonej współcześnie. W ujęciu zaś historycznym, to zapewne zjawisko prawie nieistniejące.
Potrafi stanąć w płomieniach siarczystego, przesterowanego drona, budować melodię niczym wytrwany, black metalowy szarpidrut, wreszcie wepchnąć odbiorcę do najgłębszej jaskini i straszyć chmurą najczarniejszego ambientu. Buduje gitarowe loopy, którą brzmią niczym fala uderzeniowa. Oto black metal pozbawiony sekcji rytmicznej, której powykręcane rytmy i intesywne przyspieszenia musi podpowiedzieć nam wyobraźnia. A na sam finał koncertu muzyk proponuje nam epicki dramat doom&death, który przypomina zagubioną ścieżkę z pierwszej płyty niesamowitego tria Low Vertigo.

The improvising solo electric guitar is, in fact, not very common in contemporary music. In historical terms, it is probably a nearly non-existent phenomenon.
Diego Caicedo, a longtime Barcelona resident of Colombian origin, seems to be in opposition to the mainstream and keeps delivering new solo recordings for electric guitar.
His new studio album confirms almost everything we know about him. He feels great in free jazz, even better in free improvisation, he is able to degenerate the classics, lead the life of a musician who can play exactly what he wants. However, Diego's greatest passion is rock music, and it is one of the darkest earthly and even otherworldly abysses.
The musician draws a guitar, but black ambient reality in a very balanced and calm way. He prepares sounds, places objects on the guitar's neck, controls guitar pickups with cat's agility. The sound of his guitar can be clean and spacious, resembling a bass guitar without distortion, but also dirty, full of evil powers, poisonous like a cracked hydrogen sulfide cylinder. The musician has great control over the drama, he can combine many threads in one narrative, sometimes very distant from each other, both stylistically and emotionally.
The musician shows the fullness of his black temperament on a concert recording from Robadors23. He can stand in the flames of a violent, overdriven drone, build a melody like a persistent, black metal thread, finally push the viewer into the deepest cave and scare with the darkest ambient, and finally builds guitar loops that sound like a shockwave. This is black metal devoid of the rhythm section, whose twisted rhythms and intense accelerations must be prompted by our imaginations. And at the end of the concert, the musician offers us the epic doom & death drama, which resembles the lost track from the first album of the amazing Low Vertigo trio.
